My Story

I'm taking on the mighty West Highland Way challenge once again! Strapping up the boots to tackle the 96 miles over 5 days at the end of August, all in aid of the Catherine McEwan Foundation. This small but mighty charity is doing life-changing work for people in Scotland living with Crohn's and Colitis offering support, hope, and practical help when it's needed most and my family certainly know the impact this charity has in every way!

I discovered the foundation after both of my children were diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, 10 months apart in 2022, alongside my husband also suffering from IBD for many years prior. Through this we have all unfortunately experienced first-hand the impact this disease has on sufferers and their families, however that being said it was only through the hard times that we discovered the new extension to our family in the foundation so it's not all doom and gloom! They have been there for us with so much since the beginning of navigating our new normal -  support, advice, workshops, family days, scholarships and everything else in between. The foundation has been invaluable to us all when navigating this diagnosis and the overwhelm that comes with it.

I would, again like to help in my own small way by raising as much money as I can whilst making my way across the miles and would appreciate any support at all, every single penny helps the foundation carry on with the amazing work they are currently doing for sufferers and their families. I can speak from experience when I say it is greatly needed in the IBD world.

Thank you so much for your support! 🙌💜
